Like many people after 2020 we took stock of where we were in life and what mattered most. For us, it was coming back to Abigail's hometown and being close to family. We were ready to pack up and leave the city for good. However, home options were limited at the time. Many homes were selling as soon as they were listed. Then one day, we found what would be our future home. We were shocked that it had been on the market for almost a year so we immediately went to see it. As we pulled up to the property, it became obvious why it had been on the market so long.
The sweet older couple who lived there told us they had become too ill to maintain it. The wild multiflora had spread out of the woods and were threatening to encroach on the house proper. The property was in need of some love. A diamond in the rough. Despite all the work it presented, we saw the potential for what it was. We fell in love and bought the property. When our family came to see the place we bought, they thought we were a little crazy. After much discussion, they too came to see the potential of our plans and dreams. This is why we decided to name our place Bowman's Folly Farm.
